In 1978 Paul Thatcher decided to turn a side hustle into a legitimate business, and after 50 years of operation, working through the floods in the 80s and some of the toughest droughts in the 90s; Paul managed to develop unbeatable loyalty with his partners.

 

With his hair turning grey, partners started questioning who was going to take on the work. This began Paul’s next venture, he found a man named Mark, who spent the next few years side-by-side learning the tricks of the trade.

 

In 1994 Paul handed South Coast Slashing & Seeding over to Mike and his wife, who would become the proud owners for the next 27 years. 

 

After spending his time expanding the business into new markets and developing relationships with large corporates, Mike, realised he needed to start thinking about what was next for the business. 

 

Mike wanted to ensure the next generation was ready for the future, and had the ability to adapt based on the environmental barriers a company like SCSS would face. It wasn’t long until Mike got a call from man called David, and his son Zach. 

 

Two people who would spend the next few years side by side, just like Mike did with Paul. 

 

And here we are today, the proud owners of SCSS, who spend their days carrying out the legacy of both Paul and Mike, Quality, Reliable, and Honest works.
